Have a full believe in Allah subhana o taala's mercy. As it is a matter of fact and I have observed it myself that without the Grace of Almighty Allah you could not win. Mercy and Grace of Allah are must for your success, without it you cannot succeed, no matter how much competent and hard working you may be. So first of all remember Allah and begin with his name from paryers of Allah. In this way you are bound to succeed InshaAllah.

Guidance from seniors.

Secondly, you must take advice from your seniors and peers. They know all, what is all required to succeed. You must take proper guidelines from them. They know what kinds of test and tribulations you have to pass in and what standards and requirements you have to meet to obtain the required promotion. As, a successful person who has already obtained what you are going to acquire is only the right person to guide you.

So from above practical example it is vividly proved that Regualarity is one of  the best principle of success.
